Doctor Goodwin Inspiration Story

Doctor Goodwin is a Dr. Pepper alternative, so Doctor Goodwin's inspiration story starts with Dr. Pepper's inspiration story. However, in addition to creating OLIPOP with functional ingredients, we added an OLIPOP twist.

Dr. Pepper was created because the inventor wanted to replicate the smells of walking into a soda pharmacy. Ben Goodwin, our co-founder and formulator, took that story as inspiration but also wanted Doctor Goodwin to be its own expression of uniquely combined ingredients. With that in mind, he wanted Doctor Goodwin to have a similar taste, but be able to stand on its own two feet with a kitchen sink of flavors. Therefore, Ben worked intensely with a flavor lab, doing hundreds of tests to get to the flavor we have today. It's tricky to not only get close to the authentic Dr. Pepper flavor but also to put an original spin on it inspired by the original ethic.
