OLIPOP Offsite: A Guide to Working and Playing in Atlanta, Georgia

Our team is a special group that has a unique way of working. For starters, we were fully remote before the pandemic forced everyone to work from home. So even though we're incredibly successful working in this fashion, we recognize that sometimes, nothing beats face-to-face work, especially when you're doing something like disrupting an industry that's been around for decades.

That's why in May 2021, the OLIPOP marketing team took on Atlanta, Georgia, and boy, did we have a good time! We worked hard, and played hard, too. Thanks to Katie Hall, our Executive Assistant to Chief of Staff, the entire team had an incredible trip packed with belly laughs and amazing team learnings. From organizing every meal to sending us a highly detailed itinerary weeks in advance, Katie, for lack of better words, freaking nailed it.

So much so, we decided to create an Atlanta guide that highlights all of the delicious restaurants and insanely beautiful offices we were lucky enough to visit.

Atlanta Work and Play Itinerary

Day 1:
7:00 PM: Team Welcome Dinner/Gathering

Inman Park
On the eastside of Atlanta, Inman Park is a charming neighborhood known for its food scene. Packed with brunch spots, cafes, and wine bars, the picturesque area is centered around the Eastside Beltline Trail, a railway that has transformed into a trail that is a favorite to walkers and cyclists. Inman Park was Atlanta's first planned suburb, and today, you can see the original Victorian mansions alongside bungalows of various sizes and tiny "shotgun" houses.

Barcelona Wine Bar Inman Park
240 North Highland Avenue NE Atlanta, GA 30307
A welcoming and fun tapas bar, Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant is inspired by the culture of Spain. Their menu is constantly revolving to reflect ingredients in season and is filled with specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams
If there is a Jennis near you, treat yourself. With over forty branded 'scoop shops' and retail distributors nationally, Jennis is all over the place, so if you don't happen to be in Atlanta, you might just be in luck. With whimsical yet artisanal flavors, Jenis creates ice cream that is worth indulging in and has caught the attention of food critics and writers everywhere.

Day 2:
11:00AM- 4:30 pm: Team Work Session

Constellations Shared Work Space
135 Auburn Ave NE Suite 201, Atlanta, GA 30303
Who knew workspaces could be pretty enough to host weddings? We sure didn't. An incredible cultural and historic venue, Constellations hosts everything from the creative marketing session OLIPOP hosted to graduations and every type of event in between. It's a working office space packed with good energy and an abundance of natural light, allowing you to either work (or party) in peace.

Working Lunch: 'UpBeet'
UpBeet
UpBeet's mission: to serve clean and healthful food for those who don't want to sacrifice nutrition for convenience. And in our opinion, they more than deliver. With a menu packed with customizable salads and grain bowls that are filled with organic veggies, grass-fed animal proteins and non-GMO vegan proteins, and house made dressings made with clean oils, your tastebuds, and body both can feel good about the food you're eating.

5:00 pm- 7:30 pm: Check out Ponce City Market

Ponce City Market
Located in a well-known neighborhood, Ponce City Market sits in a now repurposed Sears Building. Housing a vibrant marketplace that has a little something for everyone, you will find a thriving food hall, eclectic and traditional shops, and even office spaces. A travel influencer's little slice of heaven, the area is loaded with picturesque opportunities with brightly painted pianos and funky craft cocktails.

7:30 pm: Team Dinner:

9 Mile Station
675 Ponce de Leon Ave Atlanta, GA 30308

On the rooftop of Ponce City Market, you'll find a whole lot happening, and within the excitement sits 9 mile Station. Offering extensive and unobstructed views of Atlanta, 9 Mile Station is a sophisticated indoor-outdoor space with delicious shareable food and all of your favorite classic cocktails.

Day 3:
10:00 AM - 1:30 PM: Team Work Session

Indie Studios
190 Ottley Dr. NE, Atlanta, GA 30324
A warehouse revamped and turned into a creative scene; Indie Studios is thoughtfully designed with everything you possibly could need to work or collaborate with teammates. Big, bright, welcoming, and charming, we'd like to think Indie Studios are the workplaces of the future.

1:45 pm: Picnic In The Park With Influencers

Thanks to Picnic Party Atlanta and food from Cheese Me and Kale Me Crazy, we enjoyed a picnic in the park alongside some of our favorite Atlanta-based influencers. If you’re a picnic kind of person, you cannot go wrong if you hire or purchase food from these companies.

Picnic Party Atlanta
A full-service picnic company, Picnic Party, set up a picturesque scene with every detail executed perfectly. Thoughtfully designed and charming, we enjoyed an unforgettable experience.

Kale Me Crazy
A superfood cafe, Kale Me Crazy, supports healthy lifestyles by providing fresh, organic, and raw food.

Cheese Me
Say cheese! Atlanta’s go-to place for custom cheese boxes and boards that are made fresh to order!

7:30 pm: Team Dinner

Forza Storico
A traditional Italian restaurant, Forza Storico, has all of the Italian pasta dishes you know and love. A picturesque in-door, outdoor setting with over 15 craft cocktails and an extensive list of Italian beers, Forza Storico had great food, excellent service, and exceptionally fun.

Atlanta Trip Takeaway

All in all, we’d suggest any and all of the restaurants we went to and definitely recommend the office spaces we used for the day. Now, if we can just convince our CEO to have us go back…..

“I had so much fun in Atlanta with the team! I had never been to Georgia before, and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was so amazed at how much greenery there was, the beautiful neighborhoods, the southern hospitality, and the delicious food! I’m already excited to go back!” - Ariel, OLIPOP Customer Experience
